Kommodus is the acid rain that pours on you melting your existence with it's sheer combustion power. I'm thinking this is first wave black metal through modern lense with strong concept of nonmodern temper of survival of the fittest. Pugnacious drums ushers dark army of decimating riffs and basslines to immolate everything on their way. There's hints of early Sepultura too which is kinda refreshing. Fine, defiant art. 𝙅𝙤𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡

whole record is amazing. im not always into the more lo-fi second wave style stuff but this record has everything i love about black metal. frosty riffs, melancholy atmostphere and a really lovely touch of sadness and heartache. Leprous
The band's debut is full of whiskey-burned growls and maniacal high shrieks, not surprising for a group of Detroit metal vets. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 22, 2016

I was completely captivated by the album cover but I knew that there is something here far too sinister for it to look too good. Then it hit me. After listening to the whole thing I realized that each track has a purpose. Their sense of individuality as a "track" ceases to exist and has become as a new feminine astral being that has been unified chaotically right before your naked eyes. It is made of a youthful being...
Torn into Ribbons.
And it will hurt you to its core.
10/10 for this. Die Dunkelheit Des Mondes
